Doctor Who: Radio Free Skaro

1,180 episodes - English - Latest episode: 14 days ago - ★★★★★ - 301 ratings

Radio Free Skaro is possibly the most popular, most prolific and charmingly irreverent (but never irrelevant) Doctor Who podcast around. Since August 2006, hosts Warren (in Vancouver, BC) and Steven (in Edmonton, AB) have provided listeners with their brand of amusing Doctor Who praise and punishment. A year later, Chris (also in Edmonton, AB) was added to the team, and The Three Who Rule were born.

Recommended by Doctor Who Magazine, Radio Free Skaro provides an entertaining and diverting listen for the diehard or casual Doctor Who fan. New episodes usually appear on Sundays, following a loose magazine format of the three hosts discussing the news and events of the past week in the worlds of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and the Sarah Jane Adventures. They have also recorded special commentary podcasts for classic series and new series episodes of Doctor Who along with interviews of some of the brightest of the Doctor Who luminaries. Radio Free Skaro is also the official podcast of Gallifrey One, the world’s largest and longest-running annual Doctor Who convention.

November 29, 2021 05:44 - 1 hour - 76.6 MB

It’s time for the Three Who Rule to analyze Doctor Who: Flux – Chapter Five: “Survivors of the Flux”, a veritable casserole of content featuring a multitude of planets, times, Time, Swarm, Azure, more cranky tunnel building, and globe-spanning pottery quests. Did it measure up to last week’s Weeping Angel nail-biter? And what treats yet lay in store for us when Flux concludes next week? November 22, 2021 05:31 - 1 hour - 126 MB

The Angels have the podcast! Or at least the attention of the Three Who Rule, who did not blink or look away from “Village of the Angels” and for your own safety you should keep your ears peeled to their deep and cogent thoughts along with Warren’s pointless digressions and surface-level analysis of Star Trek. Of course there are also stats and a Timelash focused on that most auspicious of dates, November 23! Join us or get quantum extracted back to 1967 or 1901! Links: Support Radio Free...

Radio Free Skaro #821 - Apocalypse Soon

October 24, 2021 18:00 - 1 hour - 66.2 MB

In merely a week we’ll have new Doctor Who to discuss as Doctor Who: Flux – Chapter One: The Halloween Apocalypse arrives to please our eyeballs, but in the meantime listen to the Three Who Rule talk about Class, binge vs once a week episode drops, the general incompetence of a certain Canadian sci-fi channel, buffoonish press pack drops and a truly epic length Timelash where they invent the exciting and entirely fictional new television mystery series Mumford & Fay starring Suranne Jones an...

Radio Free Skaro #820 - No Flux Given

October 17, 2021 18:00 - 1 hour - 84.7 MB

Radio Free Skaro #819 - So Glad We Can Finally Talk About This

October 10, 2021 18:00 - 1 hour - 63.8 MB

Our long international nightmare is over, sort of, as we finally have an airdate for the premiere of Doctor Who: Flux of Halloween night (in the UK) though a new trailer remains elusive. What is omnipresent is our (mostly Steven’s) utter rage at the BBC’s marketing “efforts” for the new series as all social media was deleted and then reinstated for…reasons? Besides invective and suspicion we also have musings on the past via the Timelash, Season 17 gets The Collection Blu-ray treatment, and ...

October 03, 2021 18:00 - 1 hour - 69.8 MB

It’s been a week since the surprise announcement that Russell T Davies is returning to our favourite televisual drama, and yet there is nothing in the way of Series 13 teasing to satiate our base desires for more Who. Nothing, that is, except the Three Who Rule discussing a whole slew of action dollies, nostalgic remembrances via The Timelash, slagging off Canadian TV as is tradition, and a riveting commentary on Part the First of 1964’s bottle episode(s) psychodrama "The Edge of Destruction...
