Hip Hopped R&B Mix (90's R&B Mix)

November 20, 2007 04:02 - 38 minutes - 34.9 MB

To be honest i’m not really a fan of most of the R&B that gets played on the radio these days.  I always found that my favorite type of R&B is usually the songs that have real hip hop beats.  So I compiled a little mix of joints I used to keep in heavy rotation back in the day.  Compare these songs with what you hear today and tell me these don’t sound better.  I’ll take any one of these songs over “Shawty Is A Ten.”  Feedback appreciated and enjoy.- Rizzy

Rizzy's Feel Good Mix

November 15, 2007 04:06 - 47 minutes - 43.2 MB

Earlier this year I spent one month in California on vacation.  Before the trip I was really excited about going and I wanted to make a little mix for myself to listen to while driving around Orange County.  Now whenever I listen to this mix it reminds of that vacation I never wanted to end.  Hopefully this mix can help you forget about your problems at least for a little while. Classic Dancehall Reggae

November 13, 2007 06:59 - 32 minutes - 29.3 MB

What’s the deal everybody? Thanks to all of you who downloaded the first podcast!! Well for round two I decided to take things back to the old school. I remember back in high school before I even touched a turntable I would roll with DJ Delinger and DJ Kuya D and they would rock house parties and clubs all around the Virginia Beach area. This was about around 1996 right before the so called “jiggy era” began. Whatever party we were at nothing got the party live more than their reggae sets. ...

Suspended From The Old School (90's Hip Hop & R&B)

November 13, 2007 06:55 - 1 hour - 58.2 MB

This mix to sum it all up is like a time capsule of songs I was listening to in middle school and through high school.  I truly believe the music back then was a lot better than what you hear now because artists back then still had their creative freedom.  In the 90’s you can have your gangsta rap with Snoop and Dre but you can also have A Tribe Called Quest or Outkast. I made this mix a couple years ago but people still ask me for copies so i figured it’d be easier to just post it. So enjoy ...

Rizzy Loves The 80's (Part 1)

November 11, 2007 06:05 - 45 minutes - 41.9 MB

This is an 80's mix I did so long ago I don't even remember exactly when I recorded this.  Excuse the sound quality on some of the songs because this mix was made entirely with the original records. If you're feelin it let me know. I'll get back on my hip hop on the next one peace.

The Gee Mix (Atlanta Bass)

November 08, 2007 10:48 - 1 hour - 55.9 MB

Bass music was really popular in the 90's.  This is another mix I had in the stash collecting dust but decided to give it new life.  I made this mix a couple years ago for a friend who we call "Gee."  I just wanted to put this out there and show you that me and the rest of my Kuya Tribe crew can flip any style of music.  Thank you for taking the time to check out this mix as well as all the others on this page.  Hopefully they can inspire you or just get you through a rough day. - Rizzy ...

Timbaland Megamix (2005)

October 29, 2007 03:58 - 1 hour - 57.7 MB

A friend of mine who happens to be a co-founder of babypips.com is a huge Timbaland fan. So I made this mix for him and never really gave this out except to people in my circle.  I actually have a lot of mixes that i just make for friends a lot of them probably will never see the light of day but I'm making an exception here.  I also have a Bass mix thats popular amongst my little circle and if I get enough requests maybe i'll share that too.  But for now all you Timbaland lovers enjoy. Timba...

The Dilla Hour. A Tribute To Jay Dee aka J Dilla

October 18, 2007 22:37 - 1 hour - 57.4 MB

To keep it short Dilla is one of the main reasons why i do what i do. Everyone from "backpackers," to even people like Just Blaze, Kanye, and Pharrell all agree that Dilla was a beat god. I'm sure everyone knows his story so i'm not going to write a novel here but if you don't know who he was just take a listen to this mix. This is definitely hip hop in its purest form. Dilla was in my opinion the greatest producer of all time and also one of the best on the mic as well. Enjoy and pay homag...

The Late Night Creep (2004) - DJ Mike Rizzy

October 14, 2007 18:10 - 1 hour - 65.8 MB

For the next few posts i'm going to be posting some of the mixes me and my crew did in the past to get everybody familiar with what we do. This right here is for the freaks haha!  This is a slow jam mix I did back in 04 and i must have really been on some love pills or something but it's all good because I got a lot of love for doing it and i'm happy with it.  I listed the track listing at the bottom so you don't have to ask me what song such and such is called. So yeah pop this in when you'...

Neptunes Mix

September 20, 2007 08:03 - 30 minutes - 27.7 MB

Somebody told me I need to give a little background to each of my posts so yeah I decided that might be a good idea. I decided to start off by doing a Neptunes mix for one because I am from Virginia, and two because they really had a huge impact on radio. The first song I probably heard from the neptunes was "Use Your Heart" by SWV. That song is still one of my favorites by them today. The crazy thing about that song is that there's actually a sample on that and as you can tell from most of...
