How many times do you stop your watch during your workouts, specifically your long runs?

If you're like many runners, it's a few.

You stop it when you hit the drinking fountain or need to refill your water bottle.

You stop it when you have to use the bathroom.

You stop it when you just miss the traffic light and have to wait for traffic to clear before you cross the street.

But should you be stopping your watch in these cases?

Or would you be better suited starting your watch and not stopping it until you finish your workout for the day?
