The New York Rangers came into the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals having steamrolled through the first two rounds of the playoffs, but an upstart New Jersey Devils squad stood in the way of an opportunity to play the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Finals. 

  The Rangers were led by seasoned veterans like Mark Messier and Brian Leetch, but it was the Devils led by rookie goaltender Martin Brodeur jumped out to a 3-2 series lead.
