859. Like Nature, Liz Abhors a Vacuum

Liz Kislik is a problem-solver. “Every six months I was promoted into a new job because I would do the job before I was promoted to it. I, like nature, abhor a vacuum. There were always other things that needed to be done, so I would just start doing whatever wasn't working right. And then the management would promote me.”  She rose to Executive Vice President by age 29 in a telemarketing firm, but she quit that job at 30–without a plan of what she would do next.  A few days later, her phone began to ring.
