Robert Williscroft built a telescope and looked to the stars as a teenager, dreaming of becoming an astronaut. When that couldn’t happen, he swapped his telescope for a submariner’s periscope, and began the life of an adventurer. He spent 22 months underwater, a year in the equatorial Pacific, 3 years in the Arctic, and a year at the Geographic South Pole. He is a retired submariner, diver, scientist, businessman, author and adventurer. He is also a prolific hard science fiction writer.
