Escape to Victory (1981) is a charming, albeit extremely fictional World War Two film where Michael Caine assembles a ragtag team of prisoners of war to play an exhibition match against a German team. The team includes Pelé, Bobby Moore, Osvaldo Ardiles, some Ipswich Town players and Sylvester Stallone. The latter of which plays his Rocky Balboa version of what a goalkeeper is while simultaneously organising the teams miraculous escape attempt.
Make sense?
We thought not.
