Webinars are a great way to prove your knowledge in your field. They let your clients see you "in person" and interact with you, something they may not otherwise be able to do.

In this episode, we'll talk about the pros and cons of webinars (the pros definitely outweigh the cons!), why you'd want to host them, methods for repurposing webinars, and what to do after they air. Webinars are a great tool, but they still require planning!

Below are the main steps I'll cover to get you started in creating a webinar for your own small business.

And don't miss the links to my two free webinar workbooks below!

Watch Some Webinars! - Watching how others present webinars will give you a feel for what works. I'm happy to send you links to some of my favorite ones for your review!Choose a High Converting Webinar Topic - You want people to show up, so do some research into what your audience likes, and you'll have a good pool of topic ideas.Give Your Webinar a Catchy Title! - Your title matters. Beyond using it as a guide to maintaining your focus, you want something that grabs peoples' attention and makes the value of your webinar clear upfront.Research, Writing, and Your Slide Deck - No matter how much of an expert you are on your subject of choice, it pays to research, plan, and write down as much as you can to make sure you don't miss anything worth presenting. It's All About the Slide Deck - Beyond having valuable information for your webinar, you want to present it compellingly. Don't underestimate the importance of a professionally-designed slide desk to keep people engaged. How to Fill the Seats - There are many great methods for making sure people are aware of your webinar, so use every avenue you can!Presenting the Webinar - It's completely natural to be nervous about speaking in front of an audience. Sticking to your script and understanding that nobody likes how they sound when recorded (it's not just you!) are two surprisingly useful things to keep in mind.Make Sure You Have Tech Support - Even with all the preparation time in the world, you want to plan for the unexpected. Whether it's an audio, video, or slide issue, it's essential to have backup plans and, most importantly, backup people to help out in a pinch.
