William Bird is the Director of Media Monitoring Africa (MMA), an NGO that combats disinformation and promotes ethical and fair journalism.  At MMA, William has overseen or been directly involved in over 100 media monitoring projects on subjects ranging from gender based violence, HIV, and racism to reporting on Africa and migration in the media and public broadcasting sectors.
