My wife and I owned and rented out a townhome for about 3 years back in 2015 but that was the most experience we had in real estate, and we were terrible at it. It wasn’t until Covid hit that we decided to take a good hard look at our future. I’ve been a Technical Director / Project Manager in the TV and Film industry for 25 years, I’ve worked on some small projects you might have heard of… like the Abyss, and Terminator 2 and many others… I won’t say it’s been rainbows and unicorns it took us 9 months to get over the fear of pulling the trigger, but by following the path that came before us, 3 years later we are JV partners in three apartments, 4 duplexes, and GP’s in a 96 unit “B” class apartment in Northern Kentucky…We kissed a lot of frogs to get to the 96 units.

Quentin Finnerty

In 2019, I jumped into real estate investing, starting with a 4-unit house hack in my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I moved to Austin, Texas a year ago and took a position as an Asset Manager/Analyst at a real estate holdings company. These days, I’m actively seeking multifamily deals in central Texas, ranging from 20-200 units, and distressed development opportunities. I see real estate investing as a path to freedom - a way to provide for my family, help others, and support meaningful causes. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey.
