It's not often that a 22-year-old college senior gets funded to film a documentary in Cape Verde, but that's exactly what happened with Brandon Brito.

This past January, the now Boston College graduate spent 2 weeks on the island nation shooting his first extended length film about the soccer culture in the country and some of the hardships players and coaches experience while chasing their professional dreams. The documentary is called "Kicking on Rocks: Football in Cabo Verde" and it can be found over on Brandon's YouTube channel.

In this episode we talked about Brandon's love of filmmaking and how he finds joy in each part of the process. For this most recent documentary, there were dozens of logistical hurdles with filming in Cape Verde, from travel issues with sandstorms to language barriers, but it's this chaotic energy that gives Brandon a rush and keeps him coming back.

If you've ever thought about getting into film and making movies, this episode is the perfect opportunity to hear from someone who is just starting to break into the industry.

Big thanks to Brandon for joining this week. Hope you enjoy!!
