This event is part of the Marketplace Discussions series in an attempt to bridge the gap between disciplines.

Summary: Residuality provides a new theory of software engineering through applied complexity science. This session will introduce the idea by comparing and contrasting the philosophical differences between residuality and the accidental philosophy that software engineers have inherited from the industry and their education - and shows how this potentially represents the first steps out of the permanent crisis that has been the history of software engineering. The session will also introduce the basic tools required to enable software design in conditions of high uncertainty.
