In this episode, Kristen is joined by Samuel Oladipo for a very insightful conversation on the effects of Social-Emotional Learning. Samuel is an educator who believes that culturally responsive pedagogy is critical to addressing the issues of the opportunity and access gap. As someone who is social justice oriented, he sees education as one of the most powerful mechanisms in breaking the cycles of mass incarceration and poverty that malign people of color in the United States. He has been a teacher, administrator and continues to work at the district level in urban settings, utilizing those experiences to empower stakeholders in schools and school communities.
