In this sermon we are exhorted to see that sinful man's pride refuses to make him see that they are in need of Christ's mercies - for that would make them admit that they are sinners. Instead, the pride of man is such that he seeks to make Christ his servant. Instead, we are exhorted to humble ourselves before the mighty hand of Jesus Christ so that He might exalt us in due time.
