I’m often approached by people who want to make a change in their life. They have a big idea. Often, they’ve had it for a while. They have a dream they believe in, but they haven’t done anything about it. It’s as if they want me to give them permission to go for it.

Stop Looking for Permission

Stop looking to others for permission. This is your life. You only need your permission. If you want it, go for it!

What’s holding you back? What are you afraid of? Make good choices but make a decision one way or another.

If you are using my Mindset Questions (https://jeffheggie.com/mindset/), you’re already stepping out of your comfort zone on a daily basis. The more you step out of your comfort zone, the more your confidence will grow. The less you will look to others for permission.

Are You In or Are You Out?

Once you make the decision to move forward with your idea, do it obsessively. Become obsessed with your dreams and goals. When you become obsessed with a goal or project, your subconscious will go to work and help you figure out how to achieve it. You can learn more about this at, https://jeffheggie.com/2021/05/22/why-you-become-what-you-think-about/

Put In The Work

Do you want to become great at something? Put in the work.

As a basketball coach I always see the jealousy towards the best players. There are always players on the team that want the playing time as the best players, the recognition, and the stats. Sometimes they even try to degrade the better players saying they are given special treatment by the coach and they should be getting as much playing time as the better player.

What they never acknowledge is the fact that the better player has and continues to put in way more effort in all the aspects of the sport. They practice significantly more on their own, they watch film. They study and learn the game better. They do so much behind the scenes that nobody even knows about.

If you want to become great, put in the work. If you want to achieve your goals, put in the work.

Be Consistent

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. It’s the daily success habits that separate the best from the rest.

Develop your success habits and be consistent with them. If they don’t immediately produce results, keep going! John Lee Dumas said, “Entrepreneurs don’t fail. They just stop doing the things that would eventually make them successful.”

Sometimes you’ll see results quickly. Sometimes it will seem like it’s never going to happen. Stay focused and keep going. You’ll get there.

What are your goals? (If you don’t have clearly defined, written down goals, get my FREE Momentum Series at https://jeffheggie.com/momentum/) Don’t wait for someone to give you permission to go chase them. Give yourself permission and go do it!
