Welcome to the Ninety Seventh episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Steve Kane looks at Masechet Shabbat Daf 98. Shabbat 98a-b contains a discussion about carrying an object four amot in a covered public domain and the boards found in the wagons that were used in the construction of the Tabernacle in the dessert. Since these details are not mentioned in the Torah, why does the gemarrah discuss them so specifically here? Finally, why is the tent of the Tabernacle then compared to a woman walking in the marketplace?

Rabbi Steven Kane is the spiritual leader of Congregation Sons of Israel. Rabbi Kane was ordained at JTS and holds a Master’s Degree in Judaic Studies and a Bachelor of Hebrew Literature degree from the University of Judaism as well as a BA from Washington University in St. Louis.

The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
