Welcome to the Sixty Seventh episode of Daily Daf Differently. In this episode, Rabbi Shai Cherry looks at Masechet Shabbat Daf 68. We begin a new chapter today which focuses on what one knows and what one knew in determining the consequences of Shabbat violations. At stake here is the very function of sacrifices: are they to right the transgressor, or do they have a more cosmic/theological function to right the world/God?

Rabbi Shai Cherry, Ph.D, is the founder and director of Shaar Hamayim: A Jewish Learning Center in Solana Beach, California. Shai wrote Torah through Time: Understanding Bible Commentary from the Rabbinic Period to Modern Times and is the featured lecturer for The Great Courses’ “Introduction to Judaism.”

The opening and closing music for this podcast is Ufros from The Epichorus album One Bead.
