In this episode, Geoffrey and I discuss his childhood hero Paul Pierce, the challenges of changing technique, the Emerson basketball underdog story, how he's been adapting to the pro game and playing against guys he watched on TV growing up, and much more!

Geoffrey Gray has nothing but hard work to thank for making his dreams at Emerson and now playing professional basketball come true. After a high school career that left him feeling unfulfilled, Geoffrey arrived at Emerson fresh off of rehab from surgery. He spent his first year in the gym working on his shot religiously and earning court time that eventually turned him into a standout guard for the Lions.

After finishing seventh in the NEWMAC his sophomore and junior seasons, Geoffrey and the Lions shocked the conference by winning the NEWMAC tournament his senior season. For Geoffrey, leading Emerson basketball to their first NEWMAC title was a dream come true.

Geoffrey graduated from Emerson as a two time NEWMAC First Team All-Conference and a one time Second Team All-Conference selection. After clocking 16.7 minutes a game his first year with just 10 starts, he started all but one game for the rest of his career. His junior and senior seasons, he bumped his scoring average above 20 points a game while contributing in all other facets as he became a tremendous rebounder for his position and a successful floor general. He became just the 14th Lion to pass the 1,000 point mark in program history.

Geoffrey followed his Jewish ties and professional dream to Israel where he has since wrapped up his shortened rookie season while playing for Hapoel Mall Hayam Eilat. Hapoel Mall Hayam Eilat competes in the Israeli Premier League, the top division in Israel.
