Affirmative action took a major blow Thursday. The Supreme Court ruled that universities can no longer give preferential treatment to black students over other races—or preferential treatment to any race, for that matter. It will bring back a degree of “colorblindness” where the color of a person’s skin can no longer be used as a factor to decide whether a student’s enrollment is accepted or denied.

In other words, race no longer matters—at least not if the federal government is involved. And if a university denies an Asian or white student because of their race, well that’s still racism. And not only that, but it may even be illegal.

In this episode of Crossroads, we’ll discuss this and other topics.
