754: Celinne Da Costa - Untangling Brand Storytelling

If you’ve heard that you need to tell a story to engage your audience and potential clients, you’re not alone. Brand storytelling seems to be very top of mind these days. That’s why I’m excited to have Celinne Da Costa on the show today. Celinne is a storytelling and personal branding expert. She helps high-profile entrepreneurs become better leaders through irresistible stories and creating influential brands. She was born in Rome, lived in suburban America, and earned a communication degree from the University of Pennsylvania, before working in New York.  

She now travels the world making human connections, sharing her stories, and helping others with branding and finding and telling their stories. We dive into how storytelling is different for a personal brand. Celinne talks about why it’s important to understand the why of your business story. Why is it essential to your business? What can it do for your business? We also talk about how storytelling is in our DNA as one of our most ancient forms of communication. Being able to tell your story well can engage your listeners and evoke emotion.

Celinne has a four-step process for creating and sharing an irresistible story. We talk about the process, including unlocking what’s holding you back, embodiment, design of the story, and structure. We also talk about branding, micro and macro levels, and the importance of relationship building and human connection.
