Trust and Choice

Two words I knew had meaning - but had no idea what they truly meant…. Until this weekend…

This past weekend was the single most dynamic combination of communication, vulnerability, discomfort, FEAR facing, deconstructive and constructive thought provocation, extreme limit pushing and emotionally challenging weekend I have ever faced in my 30 years of walking this planet.

22 of what Lululemon called “HERO’s” all representing the SouthEast came together in Chattanooga TN for a weekend wrapped in mystery. All we knew was that we were chosen by the courage and commitment we had made to make a lasting impact in our local communities. What we didn't know, was literally anything else.

We were brought together in a hostel in the middle of the city of Chattanooga - think Real World meets Health and Wellness. Every single individual who walked through that door had a presence. An aura of greatness about them. I was in awe of the various forms that could manifest. People from all walks of life, assortments of passions that spanned the entire spectrum of interests. Yet one common thread. Greatness…

These individuals breathed it. Embodied it. Exuded it… and I was left asking…. Where do I fit in… Am I worthy?/

My inner critique wasn’t so sure….

So many experiences in such a short time. The aim you ask??

Trust… and Choice…

What do those words mean to you… truly… what does the word trust mean to you… in it’s purest form???

Prior to this experience, the word trust was a dry symbolism of an invisible agreement. Trust, to me, was a word tossed around with a slim regard for its innate power. Trust no leverage - no ability to bind me between another person or idea. If I didn't have control over the context of the situation, I wasn't going to partake.

My construct of trust, however, was shattered by a dynamic array of experiences. Opportunities to face my FEAR - to literally face myself.

The most challenging? Hang-gliding…
