Michele Locke is a former Associate Court Judge who has returned to private practice as a partner at Coldwell Bowes in Austin, Texas where she continues to pursue her passion for family law. During her time on the bench, Michele ran the Domestic Violence Court which focused on Protective Order Applications, contentious divorce, child custody, restraining order enforcement and other family law matters that arose out of those Protective Orders.
Michelle and I had a very enthusiastic discussion relating to the threat management concerns arising from domestic and intimate partner violence as well as stalking concerns. She provides a treasure trove of insight from her experience sitting on the bench overseeing the issuance of protective orders in keeping survivors of violence safe and also offered some rather candid advice on best practices both women and men can take to help reduce risk and prevent violence.
