Dr. Siri Chand Khalsa is board certified in internal medicine, integrative medicine and palliative medicine. Her medical practice is focused on prevention and best practices patients can implement throughout their lives. After completing her residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Siri Chand completed two years of full-time ayurvedic study with master teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, that included a yoga teacher training, reiki master training and a formal fellowship in Integrative Medicine.

In today’s episode, host Shay Beider welcomes Siri Chand to talk about her journey in medicine, how she found her focus, and why ayurvedic and lifestyle medicine is so powerful. Siri Chand speaks to how prevention in Western Medicine is often considered early detection in other traditions, and why it’s important to focus on true prevention. Shay and Siri Chand also discuss how unresolved trauma may prohibit the ability to heal and what steps individuals can take to move forward in the healing process.
