We hear a lot from sellers who would like to move during the winter but have heard horror stories about others doing so. They think the market will be worse and they will get less money.

While that can be true in some instances, it’s not always the case. We always like to tell our clients that the best time to move is when it’s right for them, their situation, and their family. Trying to time the market could result in getting burned and adding a ton of unnecessary stress.

Your odds of selling are actually better in the winter. ”

We sell a lot of homes in November, December, and January. We looked at the number of sales that occurred during June, July, and August, and we found that only 9% of the homes on the market were selling during the summer, while 14% of the homes on the market were selling during the winter.

There are a couple of reasons for this. A lot of times, sellers put their homes on the market in the spring and summer just to test the market. While there are a lot more buyers out there in the spring and summer, your odds of selling are actually better in the winter.

If you are interested in selling this winter, we’d be happy to help. If you want to wait until spring, that’s fine too. We can help you out either way.
