Key Thought: JESUS MADE YOU FOR A MISSION.
Key Passage: Luke 5:17-26 NIV

“The mission Jesus had while on earth is now our mission because we are the Body of Christ. What he did in his physical body we are to continue as his spiritual body, the church. What is that mission? Introducing people to God!” Rick Warren

"Jesus said to them again, '…As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.'” John 20:21 ESV

"Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."  2 Corinthians 5:18-20 ESV

Observations of the Men and Their Paralyzed Friend:

1.     They identified their one.

"Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus." Luke 5:18 NIV

 2.     They didn’t let what was in the way stop them from getting their one to The Way.

"When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus." Luke 5:19

3.     They trusted Jesus to do what only Jesus could do.

"When Jesus saw their faith, he said, 'Friend, your sins are forgiven.'" Luke 5:20

4. They didn’t take for granted what they had witnessed.

"Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, 'We have seen remarkable things today.'" Luke 5:25-26
