Key Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:10; Matthew 6:19-21

Biblically Intentional Financial Steps

1. Work Hard
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," Colossians 3:23 NIV

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.'" 2 Thessalonians 3:10

"Commit your work to the Lord , and your plans will be established." Proverbs 16:3 ESV

2. Act Your Wage

"The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get." Proverbs 21:20 NIV

3. Save Money

"Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man." Proverbs 6:6-11 NIV

4. Get Out of Debt

"The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender." Proverbs 22:7 NIV

"The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;" Psalms 37:21 NIV

5. Give Obediently

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight. Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine." Proverbs 3:5-10
