E30 | Clay’s Cortex Podcast | Generate Some Tension (ft. Meredith Mack)

The purpose of muscle is to Generate Tension.

Most people focus on the movement, but they seem to neglect the thing that causes the movement, our muscles.

This episode is all about tension. What it means, how to create it, and how to leverage it to help you achieve your goals when it comes to your exercise experience.

If you can learn how to 'shift gears' with your muscles, you will be able to have a longer and healthier journey when it comes to your exercise experience.

Many go through their exercise journey in a cycle, things are going well, then they get hurt, they go to physical therapy get better enough, then repeat over and over again.

But if you want to change the trajectory of your fitness journey then this episode will help to inspire you to not just focus on the movement or repetitions but to learn how to 'take inventory' with your body.

Meredith shares her exercise knowledge and journey and how it began. She goes into detail about her exercise process and how listens to her body while she is training. She is thinking constantly about how she is moving and if she is creating tension to move optimally.

This was a great discussion talking about an appreciation of exercise, physics, and the power of thinking to help your exercise experience become an excellent experience.

This episode wont disappoint. Enjoy it and go create some tension on your own.
