Paul uses the meta example of a body to showcase what God’s intention for the church is. In order for the body to function as it is supposed to, each member must belong, serve, gather and multiply according to how the Lord wants. The Lord made this unique local grouping and intends for it to build itself in maturity by using the gifts given by Him.
