Homily given at the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, December 8, 2019, the Second Sunday of Advent, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church.
Fr. Ed continues his series on Pope St. John Paul the Great's four pillars of spirituality that help us to grow in union with Jesus: the Eucharistic, contemplative, charismatic, and Marian.
Today, Fr. Ed focused on the Marian pillar. The Lady's "yes" made this season of Advent possible. She longs to be a Mother to us, especially as we, in response to Bishop Boyea's request, consecrate the parish and ourselves to her. The recording ends with the prayer of consecration.
