14 May 2017 - Rev. David Pileggi notes that in this passage Jesus is preparing his friends for his death and what should his family be doing after his resurrection and how should they be living? He reviews the ‘Good Shepherd’ and notes that it is the Shepherd who calls his sheep into his fold; this fact gives us identity and protection, however this is a conditional promise. We have to pay a price, giving up our pride, our isolation, our brokenness. Our patterns often provide us with a degree of comfort that we must give up in order to have the benefits of the Shepherds care.
