LDR, SDR, HDR. Today we start a two-part episode on high dynamic range. First, we need to make sure we all understand what the heck we are discussing! So here is a primer, a bit technical, hopefully useful.
LDR: That horribleness you see in photos where the whole image is close to a single brightness or luminosity level.
SDR: What your TV displays - unless you have a modern, probably expensive one.
HDR: High Dynamic Range! But what does it actually mean?
We talk about some standards and also add colour into the mix.
Picks of the week:
A whiter white, [Proof that HDR isn’t necessary](https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/70220281 ) if you have good stories, 1920s mugshots.
