Scott Kaplan is a 4th year PhD student in Agricultural and Resource Economics at UC Berkeley.
While he has championship experience (winning UC Berkeley’s intramural basketball championship in 2018), his sports-related research has focused on the economics of superstar players, attempting to measure the economic value of these players to fans.
He presented at the 2019 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, winning Best Poster for his work on NBA superstars.
