David Carey is a lecturer at La Trobe university and runs some of the Sports Analytics classes in their masters program. Previously he comes from a mathematics background and was lucky enough to work with Essendon Football club for his PhD. We talk about his research past and present (injury risk to computer vision), things handy for people wanting to break into the industry and a little bit about the maters at La Trobe.
