Chelten – a church of hope exists to worship the triune God, to nurture his family and to share his gospel of hope.
We are a community of people brought together by the Gospel—that God the Father cared so much for us who live in a broken world that he sent his son Jesus to be the solution for all of humanity’s needs so that his Spirit would live in us forever, we with him and with each other.

Fruitless Busyness and Religiosity

March 19, 2023 19:56 - 40 minutes - 36.8 MB

The story Mark tells in this passage may seem random, disjointed and may seem to portray Jesus as a bit vindictive. But, as pastor Jin walks us through these verses you’ll see that this is not really the case. Jesus has something very important to communicate with his disciples, and to us, about faith, spiritual life, bearing spiritual fruit and being consistent.

Expectation and Reality

January 29, 2023 13:29 - 30 minutes - 27.8 MB

When Jesus asked his disciple, Peter, “Who do you say I am?,” Peter answered correctly, “You’re the Messiah, the Son of God.” But when Jesus begins to describe the reality of what being the Messiah entails, the enormous chasm between Peter’s expectations and Jesus’ reality becomes shockingly obvious, and very confrontational. In this sermon pastor Jin talks with us about unmet expectations, reality and the hope this passage gives about bridging the gap between the two.
