Joy Burkhard is a mental health advocate and advocate for maternal health care and mothers. Her family lost her brother to suicide and she has been fighting within the system of healthcare to improve and advocate for mental health care.


Joy is the founder and director of 2020 Mom a non-profit closing gaps in maternal and mental health care.


2020 Mom's brand/social change product portfolio includes TheBlueDotProject.org which focuses on the difficulties of motherhood and reducing stigma of anxiety/depression; and most recently Mom-Congress.com, bringing together moms and those who support them in D.C. to hear from inspiring speakers and meet with Congress to address what matters most to moms.



2020 Mom, convenes thought leaders and advocates to advance the diagnosis and treatment rates of women suffering from a maternal mental health disorders like postpartum depression. The non-profit is based in L.A. however the group's focus is on scalable, sustainable change, through it's 2020 Mom Project, which provides a platform for change, setting standards for insurers, hospitals and more.
