All too often we start a conversation with an apology.

Did you know that starting with an apology can weaken what follows? You can even cause someone to lose focus or get distracted from your core message.

Sometimes apologies are necessary. However, it’s important to limit them otherwise you may become known as someone that always has excuses. You read that right.

Think of someone that routinely starts off with an apology. Eventually, you will come to expect it as their first words. This can lead to a lack of confidence in this person. It even causes you to inadvertently shy away from them because you don’t see them as an action taker, problem solver, solution maker.
