The death of George Floyd and the call for greater police reform weighs heavily on lawmakers, as they hold long floor sessions debating approaches to improve peace officer accountability and training.  On this week's program, Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke highlights debate underway at the State Capitol.

Also, a cooperative effort to aid small businesses facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic is realized, and bill author Senator Paul Anderson, R-Plymouth, explains how the grant program will work.

When protesters pulled down the statue of Columbus that stood before the State Capitol, the conversation regarding appropriate and inappropriate works of art was elevated.  Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, the first Native American in the nation to hold statewide public office, chairs the Capitol Area Architectural and Planning Board, and she joins Shannon to discuss future reviews of art on public display in the "People's House."
