According to Mother Teresa: “Charity isn't about pity; it is about love…not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
Today, Saidian Townsend needs that show of love through your kind contribution as she struggles to find money for a life saving brain surgery. The single mother was diagnosed with a frontal lobe tumor in the right side of the brain and was instructed to have it removed immediately. It was reported in a Jamaican newspaper that her brain was only covered with a titanium screen mesh panel and skin on her head. However, two years after that initial surgery, my guest is still unable to complete the next phase of the process, which would be to install a cranial plate. This second surgery was scheduled for December 2020 but financial challenges and a debt of over $1.2 million to the hospital had delayed the process.
My guest has been unemployed since 2019 as the disease had affected her functionality. She has a 17-year-old daughter in high school and continues to experience financial challenges even to provide life’s necessities. Saidian Townsend needs the help of Jamaicans in the diaspora, SMEs, Government agencies, and anyone who would show her the love that Mother Teresa suggested. #jamaicandiaspora #helpneeded #charity
