As a coal mining town in what would one day be Jasper National Park, Pocahontas was on borrowed time. During that time though, it was home to hundreds of miners and their families and was one of the biggest coal mining operations in the Canadian Rockies. Today, only a few old buildings remain of this once thriving community.
