My Own Thoughts
Can You Hear Me?

On January 17, 2021, I shared one interesting tweet on Twitter which highlighted a movie producer. He releases videos and gives his perspective on the current events, namely the incident that occurred on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC January 6, 2021. If you were not paying attention to the message, the first observation is of how handsome he is. Of course, many women (and some men) shared this video. How I became involved is when I mentioned his name and that I follow him on Instagram because of his posts. Anyone that speaks truth to power gets an A in my book! His Twitter name was eventually located and shared. However, if I try to share something that I consider equally important to say in social media……crickets. The message gets lost and only a few people see it.

Today is January 19, 2021 and I am STILL receiving mentions about this producer. I would be humbled if I mentioned anything about mental health and mental illness that could receive the same amount of attention. Looks like I must step up my A-game in reaching out to the masses.

My name is Stephanie Davis and I am the Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO for Mental Illness Prevention Partnership LLC. The company started in 2011 under another name & organizational structure. We provide programs and services with a focus on mental health, servicing specific target need areas:

1.Courts and criminal justice organizations in helping mentally and criminally impaired ex-offenders
2.Military veterans and those displaced
3.At-risk youth entering the juvenile justice system; victims of child sex trafficking
4.Suicide prevention initiatives
5.Persons involved in domestic violence

We developed partnerships with the US Department of Justice; Federal Bureau of Prisons; Department of Veterans Affairs; local law enforcement agencies; mental health professionals; school administrators and counselors; mental health organizations and advocates. MIPP is currently registered in MD, FL, HI, GA, and OH. We are building our teams to help others in ALL 50 States; the District of Columbia; and all US territories, because we know mental health services are needed for the ones we are trying to help. We are ALL impacted by mental illness!

On July 13, 2020, we launched a podcast entitled “Can You Hear Me: Let’s Talk About Mental Health.” We have conversations with subject matter experts about the target need areas we try to help and mental health awareness; in addition to sharing best practices. #TEAMMIPP continues to sound the alarm about the increase of situations impacting all of us or we may know someone who is experiencing them. We’ll begin our new season on January 25, 2021.

This health pandemic has exacerbated the need for mental health services. We need more people to not just talk about it but support our mission and speak on our behalf to say “YES! This is so needed!” MIPP has its own theme song also entitled “Can You Hear Me?” I wrote it after I saw the tragedy on 2/14/2018 take place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. I had to write the words after viewing so many tragic moments seen before this one in this country. We are living through some extraordinary times. Mental health is crucial and the stigma surrounding mental illness must be done away with. MIPP is on Facebook; Twitter - @mippllc; Instagram - @mippllchelpandheal; YouTube Channel; LinkedIn; and Alignable. Our podcast is on the Spreaker platform, but you can find us on several others like Castbox; Apple Podcast; iHeartRadio and Spotify. Here is one link to find our social media handles; website; podcast and online Etsy store Linktr.ee. As we say #TimetoHelpandHeal. Thank you for listening. It would mean a lot that these thoughts are shared and in helping us getting the word out about what we do.
