THE GOOD
Good cast with lots of chemistry; Brendan Gleeson, Bridget Fonda and Betty White stand out. Some fun body horror - missing limbs, etc. Great practical effects for the croc. Solid action and campy humor.
THE BAD
CGI croc effects are less convincing. What's the point of Platt's mythology background if the croc isn't supernatural? What if it was? Missed opportunity; make him a regular crocodile hunter and we good. Script also unsure of Fonda's character - a tough as nails self-made heroine or a diva bemoaning the lack of amenities? She can be both but that level of complexity is beyond the script. Female representation in general does not hold up, even the female cop is only there as a sex interest.
THE DOWNRIGHT CAMPY

A lot of fun moments for sure thanks to the effects and cast, but doesn't stand the test of time due to some poorly written characters.
