THE GOOD
Starts strong; fun, earnest characters. Sense of mystery. Special effects leading to some rather intense fish attacks.
THE BAD
Ever notice when a movie has two climaxes? PIRANHA spends it's time racing towards one thrilling conclusion, only to reach that conclusion and carry on toward another in an effort to pad it's runtime.
Does Paul know his daughter is at the camp? Father-daughter relationship fell flatter than it should have. What happened to that weird stop-motion creature from the top??
THE DOWNRIGHT CAMPY
Using a log raft to float downriver... this movie could have been called Huckleberry Finn in Hell.

.
Cult classic. There's a lot to love here - stands the test of time due to a strong beginning (Dante knows what he's doing), but topples under it's own weight toward the end.
