On episode No. 8 of the Cafe Binge Podcast, I invited a special guest on the show to talk about eating disorders, disordered eating (there's a difference!), body image issues and intuitive eating. Elizabeth A. Thomas is licensed clinical therapist and doctoral researcher who has spent the majority of her LCSW career as an inpatient, residential and outpatient clinical therapist for eating disorders and a researcher in understanding those disorders, their origins and emotional framework—as well as implementing mindfulness and empathy in the treatment and intervention of these disorders.

She explains the differences between eating disorders and disordered eating, how to bring mindfulness into eating, how to drop the diet mentality and answers the question, "Can someone be addicted to food?"
