In this episode, I sat down with Skye O'Sullivan from SOS Dance Solutions to chat about the importance of youth mental health in the dance industry specifically!

Skye O'Sullivan is the Director & Founder of SOS Dance Solutions Pty Ltd.For many years Skye has been passionate about Early Education and Intervention of Young Adults and has also been a part of the dance community for 10+ years with her own daughters.

Skye has a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, with a minor in Community Development. Her background was in criminology in the reduction of recidivism within the community. This is where she found her passion for early interventional programs.

She is a member of The Australian Social Work Association (AASW) and a Mental Health First Aid Instructor through the Australian Mental Health Association (AMHA).

She believes early education and intervention is the way forward in reducing stigmas and breaking barriers and would like community members to consider mental health as a complex personal, social and economic issue.

Mental health requires a whole system approach that is inclusive of prevention, early intervention, care and recovery processes. Skye has questioned for many years why we don't have mental health support and education within the dance community and endeavours to change this.
