We conclude "Losing My Religion" by considering the lesson of the figless fig tree. It appeared to be a perfectly healthy fig tree, green and lots of leaves, but it had no fruit. This tree was a great irritant to Jesus and He used it as an example of the futility of religion. Religion has a perfectly fine outward appearance, but the reality is that often it has very little meaningful substance. It might look like it is "of God", but truth is it's man-made. Thus, sometimes we need to "lose our religion", so we can focus on things that really matter. I hope to see you Sunday.
