"Losing My Religion" continues this weekend with a look at Luke 15 where religious activity and a personal relationship with God collide head-on in the story of the Prodigal Son. We see a repentant sinner, a loving God and an unforgiving religious person all play their roles in this classic parable. Jesus makes it clear that the party takes place when repentance and grace meet and that self-righteous people will always miss the party. If you are religious, you don't think you need a redeemer. If you are self-righteous, you don't think you need a savior. If you are good enough, you don't think you need grace. Count me in with the prodigal, the guy who is slowly making his way home, ready to plead for mercy! How about you?
