Alison Melnick Dyer is a professor of Religion who teaches courses on Asian Religion and specializes in Tibetan and Chinese Buddhism. Her research considers questions at the intersection of authority, gender, privilege, and the role of the religious institution in Tibetan and Chinese literature and society. Professor Melnick Dyer sat down with Multifaith Fellows Joan Buse and Matt Suslovic to discuss her childhood discovery of Buddhism, how she came to study religion, and finding meaning through bee-keeping.
