Port Washington Talks About Black Lives Matter, a virtual event hosted by Port Conversations on July 29th at 4:00pm.

Louise and David started Port Conversations in 2014 as a way to invite community members to explore ideas.  Today is our first venture into a virtual conversation; usually we meet face to face.  Today we are especially grateful for the technical support we are receiving from the Niederkorn library staff in using this videoconferencing platform “BlueJeans”.

We know that today’s topic carries strong emotions.  So we thank our guest panelists for having the courage to speak out with their views.  We welcome our 3 panelists & moderator – all of them our neighbors.  They welcome all and any of your questions and comments.  These comments might include what makes you uncomfortable with the words “Black Lives Matter”.

The discussion will feature guest panelists Izzi, Natalie, and Lauren with Erica from Bridge The Divide as moderator.

We welcome and thank all of you who joined us today.  We gather with respect and an openness to learning.  We are all here to learn, not to judge.
