143. My Friend Has Breast Cancer, What Can I Do To Help? With Candace Bloomstrand and Lauren Rampello

When you are diagnosed with breast cancer it is devastating. When you find out your friend has breast cancer, it can trigger PTSD, flashbacks of your own diagnosis, empathy for what your friend is about to endure, and a willingness to help, support, and be there for her. 

We often get asks from friends, what can they do to support someone who has recently been  diagnosed with breast cancer. Similarly, those of us living with a diagnosis often talk about what not to say to someone with a recent diagnosis. Sometimes even the most helpful words of encouragement or best intentions can rub someone the wrong way. What better way to explore this conversation than to invite Candace Bloomstrand to interview her friend, Lauren Rampello what it was like to be diagnosed with breast cancer under 35, run a successful business, and explore how friends can offer support, knowing that the support you may request one day may look different a day, week, or month down the line.
