The European Commission has charged Amazon with systematically relying on data from third-party sellers to the benefit of its own retail business. Amazon, which plays a dual role as a marketplace and retailer, had long been accused of using data gleaned from third-party sellers to better position its own products.
In India Amazon is a pure marketplace but has been often accused of favoring Cloudtail, a large seller with corporate ties with Amazon.
